Roomtab Privacy Policy

Roomtab ("the app") is built by Schenck Tech Labs. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use Roomtab. The short version: your data stays on your device. We don't have a server, we don't run analytics, and we don't sell or share anything.

What Roomtab Stores

Roomtab stores the following information locally on your device only:

• Expense entries you create (amounts, dates, categories, notes)
• Receipt photos you capture or import
• Your app settings and preferences (tax year, school year dates, display options)

None of this information is transmitted to us, to any server we operate, or to any third party. It lives in the app's local storage on your phone, the same way a notes app or a photo gallery would store your content.

Receipt Scanning

When you scan a receipt, Roomtab uses on-device text recognition (Google's ML Kit) to read the text. This processing happens entirely on your device — your receipt photos are not uploaded to Google, to us, or to anyone else for this purpose.

In-App Purchases

Roomtab offers an optional one-time "Pro" unlock. Purchases are processed directly by Apple's App Store or Google Play's billing system — Roomtab never sees your payment details (card numbers, billing address, etc.), and we don't operate any server that purchase data passes through. Apple's and Google's own privacy policies govern how they handle that transaction.

Data Sharing

We do not share, sell, rent, or transmit your data to any third party. We don't use advertising networks. We don't use analytics or tracking SDKs.

Children's Privacy

Roomtab is not directed at children and is not designed to collect information from anyone, regardless of age. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children, because we do not collect personal information from anyone — all data stays on your device.

Data Deletion

Because your data lives only on your device, deleting the app removes all of your Roomtab data. There is no account to close and no server-side copy to request deletion of, because none exists.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes — for example, if a future version of Roomtab adds cloud backup or sync — we'll update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above before that feature ships.
